Adding Your First Bucket
Now that your account has been set up, we can start adding your first bucket. But before we begin, let’s understand what a bucket is.
What is a Baskt bucket?
In Baskt, a bucket is like a drive - it maps to a real cloud bucket (such as Amazon S3) and represents the storage location for your files and user access.
- It’s a Baskt concept that represents a storage location
- It maps to a real cloud bucket (e.g., Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage)
- It’s where your files will be stored and where you’ll manage user access
Adding the Bucket
Here, we’ll add an AWS S3 bucket, but the process remains the same for other providers. You can check integration-specific guides if you need more information.
- Navigate to the Buckets page
- Click on the “Create my first bucket” button
- Fill in the form with your cloud bucket details:
- S3 bucket name
- Region
- Access key
- Secret key
- Click “Submit”
And that’s it! You’ve now successfully added your first bucket and are one step away from transferring files to and from it.
Next Steps
Now that you’ve added your bucket, all it needs is users. We’ll cover this in our next guide: “Adding your first user”.
